ART.
I'm a perfectionist.
And this work is imperfectly perfect.
I created a series about how I see the world. Titled "Perfection's Manipulation," this graphic series was on display at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from February to June in 2018.
I designed the work to be imperfect. Each piece contains a small defect which evokes some type of reaction from the viewer. You can read about it on the official art gallery website here:
Naturally, my design process started by looking at the things around me for inspiration. The arrow print was influenced by a palm leaf.

Design is the never ending pursuit of perfection.
and ended up like this
My designs started like this
This artistic process was very iterative. Some of these designs either changed form or were deleted in the curation process.
I refined my ideas into patterns of basic geometric shapes, experimenting with line, color and repetition.
The sculptures are just as important as the prints.
The consideration of the medium for each piece is vital. I used a 3D printer to guarantee a near perfect result for each sculpture.
Just like my prints, each sculpture is also imperfect in its own way. The viewer must look around the object to discover the abnormality.
Fun fact: each sculpture and print is actually imperfect even without the irregularity. It was my personal challenge to only use my eye to create something that seemed perfect.
